From the director:

If you are looking for good competition come out on Mondays and Wednesdays nights from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm You can only become a better player in competing against a variety of good players and gain knowledge and experience from them. Know of a player who might want to improve his or her game and join our Club? Invite him or her in as your guest; as it is a Free Night, so that they can experience to see what it is like in joining our club.

From your Club Umpire

In 2007, I took the USATT Umpire Test to qualify as a Club Umpire. I passed the test. As a Club Umpire it is my job to monitor tournaments by answering questions purtaining to the USATT rules, inforcing the rules when ask by the competitors and helping compute results. We have several members of our club that compete in tournaments in the Rio Grande Valley, statewide and nationwide.

The Corpus Christi tournament held by the DelMar Table Tennis Club was excellent! Just another way to improve your game by competing in the tournament. Tournament included 35 players. Excellent opportunity to learn by seeing and practicing with them, especially the top rated players. From the Harlingen club, Bob Salmeron and myself, Juan Garcia, from McAllen club Steve and Mando traveled to Corpus Christi to compete in the tournament. Next tournament is scheduled in Harlingen in July, more information to come!

Did you see the 2012 LIEBHERR World Team Table Tennis Championships on ITTF.COM/ITTV? The issue was live games could not be viewed because www.universalsports.com bought rights to air the live video streaming. The good thing is the videos could be viewed right after the live streaming. I am not sure if this was a good move for ITTF organization. I am sure many were disappointed. If you have kept up with the tournament, the top country contender is China and of course China prevails. Please send me you comments, I will post on this site.
